The Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental Association presents scholarships to deserving
students every year to develop culturally proficient dental professionals.
Scholarship recipients are those who best fulfill GSAHDA's mission.

What Are The Qualifications?
​The applicant must demonstrate:

Scholastic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale)

Community service
-
Leadership skills
-
Commitment and dedication to improving the health of underserved communities
-
Preferred GSAHDA or BOLD Member, however not required

THE CORAZON CON DIGNIDAD SCHOLARSHIP
The Dignified Heart scholarship is awarded to a graduating dental student who exemplifies a passion for uplifting the Hispanic community and a commitment to service and leadership. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating dental student who symbolizes a true commitment to underserved communities, academic excellence, and leadership in the dental profession.

DR. EDMUNDO CAVAZOS ENDOWNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
This Endowment was established by Dr. Roger Campos in honor of the late Dr. Edmuno Cavazos, Jr. Dr. Cavazos was a long-time prosthodontic faculty member of the UT Health School of Dentistry in San Antonio and was recognized as a mentor to many. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating dental student who demonstrates a commitment to serving the community, academic excellence, and leadership in the dental profession.

THE DR. JUANITA S. WALLACE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established in honor of Juanita "Nita" Wallace, RDH, PhD for her contributions to the field of Dental Hygiene, mentorship of students, and to the Hispanic community. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating dental hygiene student who demonstrates a commitment to serving the community, academic excellence, and leadership in the dental profession.

The Building Our Leaders in Dentistry (BOLD) Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2011, providing an opportunity for high school and pre-dental college students to gain insight and mentorship in the field of dentistry. The BOLD Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to GSAHDA, the community, and their own professional success.

THE SEAL AWARD
This award is given to a student who represents the mission of GSAHDA by demonstrating Service, Education, Advocacy, and Leadership in the field of dentistry and for the community.
